Double Love Pedi Inspired Hand Stamped Card

During the season of love... I love to share the love!  With amazing friends, family, hubby and kids... I am blessed  with many an opportunity! Decorating my home is just the start.. I'm quick to get my pinks, reds and berry colored clothes out during this season and even sport some pretty Valentine inspired toes.  Creating a fashionable embossed, sanded and die-cut card that is inspired by said toes is just a fun way to show that I care!

This classic, minimal card is created with:

These open, linked double hearts are easy and elegant to create!  I love how they shine.. and brighten this card.

Placing the hearts Collection Framelits over the Gold Foil Sheet on the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine and Magnetic Platform will keep the hearts right where you want them so that you can actually cut the outside at the same time!!  (Psssst - I LOVE the Magnetic Platform.. I'm just saying... not as much as I love my kids, but it's up in my top 100 - lol.)

 

Using even the scrap here, the inner hearts are an ideal inside accent to this card... so put them on inside for a continued accent!

 

 

 

 

Create a subtle accent with the Adoring Accents Heart Strip.  After Embossing this with the Big Shot and the Cherry Cobbler Core'dination card stock.  This card stock has a lighter inner core that is meant to show through once sanded.

 

Core'dination card stock also has a rich linen look where not sanded... it's so rich looking. 

 

Sand the top of the raised/embossed strip of hearts with the Stampin' Sanding System and this lighter core will peek through and leave a soft texture, too!

This soft texture, raised and lighter in color, is a sweet accent to this clean card.

 

Layered over the Early Espresso card stock, it breaks up the Cherry Cobbler card stock base, Cherry Cobbler Core'dination card stock and lends me to dream of chocolate covered cherries... that and strawberries (a favorite treat of mine).... sigh...   Early Espresso is paired with Cherry Cobbler with the help of my Color Coach (#130118).

The extra hearts are the ideal accent to the inside of this sweet card.  Sometimes less is more... and that is definitely this card!

Inspiration??  Heck Yeah!  My love of fashion and Pedi's... sigh... so even with a cool and damp day like this I can sport a peep toe with flair while showing off my Valentine Pedi!!

 

The two open gold hearts on the deep red toe is the inspiration for this clean and simple card!

Emboss the Decorative Dots embossing folder through the Big Shot Die-Cutting machine on the Pool Party Core'dination card stock.  Using the Stampin' Sanding System and sand the top off of the raised dots.  The inner, lighter core, will peek through and look great. 

Stamping this love-filled sentiment in Basic Black ink on the Crisp Cantalope card stock for a pop of color.  Clean and warm, just says it all! Layer over the Sweet Sorbet* Designer Series Paper coordinating polka dot page.

 

Tie the ends with this Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack that has a beautiful coordinating collection of Baker's Twines and adhesive backed cork accents.

 

Layer these together on the Basic Black card stock for a bold base to these soft colors.

The ladies and I enjoyed this card from a recent class.  Taking a cut and folded Crumb Cake card stock, the Labels Collection Framelits, Big Shot and Magnetic Platform.  Leave area on the seam of the card and with the largest of the framelits, cut this card into a fun shape (I think it mimics an acorn - lol).

Using the Chocolate Chip Core'dination card stock and the Labels Collection Framelit that is two sizes smaller.  Cut this same shape so it mimics the card shape. 

 

Core'dination card stock has an inner monochromatic color that comes out when distressed, sanded, textured, embossed.  Here we used the Woodgrain embossing folder across this shaped piece.  Sanding the Top with our Stampin' Sanding System.  It revealed the Crumb Cake center and added a fun, soft texture to the card.

Using the Expressions Thinlits Dies (Thankful), Big Shot and Magnetic Platform this Champagne Glimmer Paper creates a stunning sentiment!  This is super quick.  I use the Paper-Piercing Tool (or my SNIPS) to push the sentiment out.  Adhere with liquid adhesive.  Here the Crystal Effects dries clear and quickly.

I'd been asked to demonstrate the Paper-Piercing.  Our Festive Paper-Piercing Pack has the Labels Collection.  Quickly with the use of our Piercing Mat and Tools you can create a unique and layered accent with these tools.  The Paper-Piercing Guides prevent making too big of a whole also while the Mat protects your table!

Shaped cards are extra special.  They are quick to create and look so great!  Go ahead, have fun creating some shapes!

This is a Neutral, soft, distressed card but the fun Champagne Glimmer 'Thankful' makes it POP!

It's the Great Pumpkin...

What does FALL bring to mind??  For me it's family time, hot apple cider, pumpkin bread and yummy soups.  Holiday movies abound, much like one of my FAVORITE movies, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!!  This fun fall Happy Halloween card is inspired by this wonderful, timeless movie.

Pumpkin is what I call my babies... maybe it goes to show how very much I LOVEEEEE Fall!!

Taking Pumpkin Pie card stock (#105117) for the base of this card.  Add a cool layer when the Core'dinations card stock like this Early Espresso piece (Neutrals collection of Core'Dination #129956).  Running it through my Big Shot and the Honeycomb embossing folder (#129378).  Sand the Top of the raised embossing with the Stampin' Sanding System (#129367) to reveal the lighter, coordinated inner color!  What a cool effect!! 

 

Distressed... it reminds me of the dark pumpkin field where the clouds and stars highlighted the sky as they waited for The Great Pumpkin.

Create a Pumpkin!!  Using the 1" Circle Punch (#119868) punch three circles from the Pumpkin Pie card stock (#105117) and using the Stampin' Sponges (#101610) and rub the edges in Early Espresso ink.  This adds dimension while supporting the separate levels of layered circles.  This aides them in standing apart from one another.  Layer using the Stampin' Dimensional Adhesive (#104430) to hold the three pieces together while adding dimension.

 

Adhering a folded Pear Pizzazz Taffeta Ribbon (#131208) for a cute stem... it's soft and a great additional texture to this card.

OK I couldn't resist a "Whoot! Whoot!!" to Ashley for this cool spin on my original design.  I love that the ladies in my class have such creative license and can create great spins on my ideas!  Here she added the stamp to the center of the pumpkin... isn't it just darling?!?!

This fun Hostess Exclusive Perfectly You stamp set (#131877) is a great mix of sentiments!  It coordinates with the Hexagon Punch (#130919) and Hearts A Flutter Framelits (#130159) and Big Shot Die Cutting Machine (#113439)* while the Big Shot Magnetic Platform (#130658)* holds it in place for precision cutting. Punching through the front of this layered card front to reveal this stamped image inside... it's a fun spin on where a sentiment goes!

 

Open this card to see the sentiment inside - this little pumpkin smiling up at you!  It's hard to NOT Smile back!!  It also leaves plenty of room to write!

 

 Doesn't this movie make you smile?!?!  I couldn't resist whipping the DVD out for my kiddos.. then looked up some fun ideas for a Charlie Brown themed dessert.  These cupcakes are a fast, easy and sure-fire-way to celebrate a movie day with friends or a gift to someone who needs a smile!

Patterned Pool Party

I have dyslexia.  My brother, one of my sisters, quite a few of my cousins, my grandfather (we suspect) all have dyslexia.  It's a learning disability, one that I've been blessed to have coping mechanisms learned and am planning to some day be an author. 

 

When my daughter had struggles in school this past year, I knew right away what it was.  I have faith that she, too, will overcome this struggle.  Her school, teacher, tutor in addition to our help will have her succeed!

Running this 4" x 4" Pool Party Core'dination card stock through the Big Shot (#113439) and the New Modern Mosaic (#129984) embossing folder.

Rubbing the top of this patterned paper in a circular manner with our new Stampin' Sanding System (#129367).  This block is easy on the hand and has replacement sanding sheets - very low cost ($1.95 for refills!! #129368).  When you rough up the Core-dination card stocks the inner 'core' is revealed.  A monochromatic lighter version of the exterior color!

 

Our Dust Buddy (#129366) wipe your project and surface clean of any shredded papers!

The NEW Mosaic punch (#131267) coordinates PERFECTLY with the NEW Mosaic Madness stamp set (#130246).  It ties into the patterned Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper, too!  Stamping the Mosaic Madness stamps with Island Indigo ink (#126986) on Whisper White card stock (#100730) then punching them out - layering them over the textured pattern allows for a sharp look.

Stamping this Feel Goods (#131916) stamp sentiment with Island Indigo on this pretty paper then rubbing the stamped piece into the ink pad adds as small layer that sets it apart in a subtle way.

Sweeten this card with these luster and elegance with our adhesive backed Pearl Basic Jewels (#119247).  The sheet comes with 150 pearls in 3 sizes for only $4.95 - WOW!  The varying sizes allows for perfect accentuation with perfect coordination!!

My big baby girl can and will overcome this challenge.. being stronger for it!  (My cousins overcame it and one is even a published author!!)
