Yes... these easy and fun Paper Ornaments look a bit like a Sea Shell or squish them down a bit and they look like a round ball...
both that you can peek inside of!
Start Off with a piece of DSP/Designer Series Paper. This is a piece of Festival of Prints Paper Stack from the Holiday Mini. These strips were cut in 1/2" incriments on this 4-1/2" x 6-1/2" paper... the 13 1/2 stips made for a small but fun ornament!
Using my Crop A Dile (we used to sell this tool that is an eye-let setter and whole punch) I punched both ends with a whole and thread the two 'open' pieces thru... it leaves the Loop a the top - ideal for hanging!
Use many different types of ribbon... the 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon is thin and has embellisment of a contrasting color... it's fun to use...
See the attached video to see how to make the paper thread this way... it's threading the second set with the farthest from the ribbon...
This is the ornament 'smooched' down a bit to be more round.
Placing a Champaigne Glimmer Paper Punched Snowflake inside with the use of a Hot Gun - it adds whimsey and fun to this ornament. Seeing a different pattern inside is FUN as well! I LOVE that our DSP is Double Sided!
A friend, Susan, was visiting as I showed her how to make this.... she suggested placing beads in the center before threading the last part! I love it!! It is limitless, the decoration opportunities!
This Sea Shell Look is fun and elegant.....
Change it up!! Yes... using different Papers... like this FUN Pumpkin Pie Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper... it'd be ideal for a party or random decorations.... Easter Window dressings, etc... the ideas are limitless! This is a 6" x 6" of DSP cut into 1/2" Strips... threaded and BAM a fun decoration!
Here is a HOW-TO Video....
Thank you for coming by, checking it out and feel free to share this with others. Comments are appreciated. Have a fun and decorated holiday!
