Up for Auction

I'm an avid reader... one who dreams of writing her own books (and has dreamt this for as long as I can remember).  Being an avid reader, I find I have a broad spectrum of what I love reading but find that Romance novels, with a thrill of danger, are my favorite.

One of my favorite Authors is the New York Best Selling Author and USA Today Best Selling Author, Brenda Novak.  One of the things I love about Brenda, besides her amazing talent in story telling, is her passion for the fight against Diabetes.  My husband and many in his family have this disease.  I have a genuine passion for fighting for this cause and the cure.  This disease strikes millions.  I couldn't resist partnering with Brenda and her On-Line Auction for Diabetes!!  Last year my auction item raised $100 dollars that all went to Diabetes Research!!  Let us DOUBLE That or MORE This YEAR!!
This year's collection that I am donating is:
A wonderful collection of hand-stamped greeting cards by an award winning designer (a collection of 10 by me). A hand-stamped faux Stained Glass butterfly wreath with a coordinating hand-stamped dry-erase board. The collection is valued at $220.

I stumbled on her in a used book and then became addicted.  I literally delved into ALL of her books!!  I reached out to her and have been blessed to get to know her!!  If you would like to get to know Brenda and more on her writing, simply CLICK HERE to see her website.

With a beautiful hand-stamped, faux Stained Glass Butterfly Wreath you will hang a wonderful collection of 3D flowers, colorful butterflies and beauty.
With rich jewel tones, this colorful wreath is a great way to add color to any room.
You could hang this outside but inside in recommended.  This would be a delightful decoration to any room, bringing the outside in for a timeless and rich look.
Write inspiring quotes, your schedule and/or messages to your loved ones (or ideal near a phone for tracking phone calls).  This colorful dry-erase board has a coordinating stained glass looking butterfly for a beautiful look to your notes.  The 3D paper flower is a fun accent to the outside of this dry erase board.
With a cute 'you can never have too much happy' sentiment, this colorful board is sure to deliver smiles.
Be eco-friendly and stop using paper... those notes often get lost.  Instead, write on this beautiful board and wipe away when you are done.
This collection is of 10 stunning hand-stamped cards that have a wide variety of uses!  Send a stunning hand-stamped card - or 10 - and wow your friends and family!!

Stained Glass Hand-Stamped Gift

One of the best things about doing what I love and getting paid for it is using it to bless others!  My husband is running for the board of our resort in Big Bear Lake... we have been blessed to get to know Sarah who runs the office, tends to owners needs and more.  She has always been gracious, warm and professional to us and others.  I couldn't resist creating a gift for this amazing lady to thank her.  Little did I expect my husband to say that it made her cry....  I'm blessed to do what I love, to get paid for it and to also bless others with my passion.  Create this dry erase framed hand-stamped gift and bless someone!
Create this Dry Erase Board with:
Peaceful Petals stamp set (#133104w/133107c)

Embossing Buddy (#103083)

I created this but forgot to photograph it.  These shots were taken in our suite.  I'm sorry the color and such aren't their best - lol... but you do what you can do some days.

Create this beautiful Stained Glass flower when you emboss the Peaceful Petals flower with Black Embossing Powder on an Embossing Buddy powdered Vellum card stock.

Use the Aqua Painter with the Daffodil Delight stamp pad and paint the center of the flower.  Paint the petals with the Tangerine Tango and Aqua Painter for a colorful flower.

Cutting it out with our Paper Snips for an easy precision cut.  Adhere to the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper with Glue Dots for a clear hold.
Feel Goods is a FUN stamp set!  Here the sunshine Sentiment on the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper looks so pretty and color coordinated.
These accents leave room on the pretty polka dot page.  It's sunshiney and sure to make her smile time and again.  Use any Dry Erase Marker or Wet Erase Marker (I prefer for a better image and it stays until a wet removal).

One of my favorite things about doing what I love, besides getting paid for it and meeting amazing people, is blessing others!!  I hope YOUR Day is a Blessed One filled with smiles, sunshine and cheer.  It warms my heart to know that the amazing Sarah was blessed by this sunshine filled hand-stamped dry erase framed gift!

Vintage Dry Erase Board for notes, quotes and more (using Etcetera Paper, Lace, Ruffles, Doilies...)

Create, Celebrate, Honor those special people in your life... Custom Gifts are a great way to show you care.  Too, what do YOU give to a woman who's well loved and celebrating her 65th Birthday?!?  Show that you love, card and know someone... it's a gift that will keep on giving.... Join me in this fun and personalized gift for a wonderful person!!

What do YOU think?? Leave me a comment and let me know.  Share me and this with your friends and family, Pin, Email, Facebook, Tweet, Google+ and Follow Me on these avenues, YouTube, Instagram and more, too!
OK so our beloved Zia Antoinette (Aunt in Italian) is one of my favorite people!  So when we were invited to Celebrate her 65th birthday... I knew I had to create something Personal that will be appreciated by someone who has everything she could possibly need.

This Personalized Dry Erase Board is an ideal gift!!
Start with this vintage Etcetera Designer Series Paper (#130129) for an elegant base.
OK so a fun vintage accent is our Tea Lace Paper Doilies (#129399) that are white (and 24 in a pkt!).

Taking our Stampin' Spritzer (126185) and adding a few drops from my Crumb Cake ReInker (#121029) and fill the remaining with water.

Over my sink (this can be messy, use a container if you don't want to use your sink) and spray the doily on the front and the back.

I then allowed it to dry while hanging over the water spout - this allows for the 'aging' to darken in the edges as it pools there... a fun way to add depth and dimension.

Once it's try I stamped this sentiment from Trust God (#126702) in Baked Brown Sugar ink (#131174).  It's on a softer, more vintage looking doily... adding this dash of sparkle with the Dazzling Details (#124117).  Adding Ruffle that coordinates with the Baked Brown Sugar Ruffled Ribbon (#130022) and I even wrapped it in this ribbon with a wet-erase pen in brown attached for a pretty and elegant accent.
This patterned piece of paper has these elegant ladies on it.  We couldn't resist adding a little 'love'!!  Taking my Champagne Glimmer Paper (#127885) and the new Expressions Thinlits Dies (Holiday pg.36 132171) utilizing the 'Love' sentiment, my Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine* (#113439), Magnetic Platform (#130658) and Paper-Piercing Tool (#126189).
This Rose is already on the paper in Baked Brown Sugar... so adding a dash of elegant lace with our Victoria Crochet Trim (#118481) in a sweet bow.
Zia lost her husband and has fought some health challenges for most of her life... yet look at how amazing she looks!!  Far from her 65 years.. and she's excited about an upcoming trip to Italy!
I'm loving that you came by today!  Visit often, I try to post daily... bring your friends and family along, too!!  Grab a frame that speaks to you and join me in the paper crafting fun.

Pulled together, this Dry Erase board was a HIT with Zia and the family... a perfect fit in her style and elegance!! She's one fly dame... could have been in a Frankie Avalon movie....  Celebrating and Creating this personalized gift was a joy and received so well!!  So make a lasting impression... creating something shows that you know and love them and that's a gift in it's own!  So as she uses this board over and over... I'm sure she'll think of us!!

The gift that keeps on giving!

Teachers are given great gifts... and I am always surprised at how the office staff is ignored.  Our Vice Principle, Tricia, a neighbor and friend (after serving for the past 5 years - we've gotten to know one another) celebrated her birthday this week.  I couldn't resist giving her a gift that is sure to keep on giving!

What do you think?!?!  Leave me a comment and let me know. Share this (and me) with your friends and family, Pin, Email, Google+, Facebook, Tweet, and Follow me on those avenues (YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, to!).
Taking a fun frame, warm and rich, to create this gift.  Our Natural Composition Specialty Paper (#126917) is fun, warm and natural, just like Tricia!
Her favorite color is green... a fun way to incorporate green into this project is to take our adhesive backed Rhinestone Basic Jewels (#119246) and a Green Permanent Marker.  Coloring it in for a beautiful emerald look.
Using this Fork Technique (see the Tutorial below) to tie this sweet little bow with our Seam Binding Ribbon.  This technique creates small, even bows.
Adding a fun, personal accent, with our Always Artichoke card stock (#105119), Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine* (#113439) and Typeset Alphabet Bigz Dies* (#127553) to create this sweet 'T'.  Making a little loop with our Natural Linen Thread (#104199) and placing it on the top of the T.  Wrap it around for a fun rustic accent.  Adhere it in the back with our Glue Dots (#103683) and then adhere it to the page.

*See how as a Hostess I bring you a Fun Class, You Earn Hostess Benefits and can take the Big Shot, Typeset Alphabet Bigz, or whatever you pick for FREE or 1/2 OFF!  Do YOU want to become a Big Shot Star, take home this Big Shot and TONS of Accessories?!?  Join the Big Shot Club - virtually or in-person!!  Own the PDF's forever, too!
With a Wet-Erase Marker (Dry Erase makers will work, too, but wipes off so easily).  The Vis-à-vis markers work the same but take a wet wipe to remove - making it easier to keep your information.

Thanks for coming by!  I hope you've enjoyed this gift and tutorials.  Please refer me to your family and friends.  I try to post daily and hope to see you often!  OH!  Grab MORE of Gettin' Crafty Stampin' Fun on my Gettin' Crafty Stampin' Mailing List (with Bonus Tutorials and Gifts) and the Virtual Club!

Don't overlook the power of a special gift.  Those quiet workers who often hold it all together need some love, too!  I am blessed to know the staff at our school, they are so funny and warm.  I hope that you, too, will give a gift that keeps on giving... it's sure to be a favorite.

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
