Oh the joys of celebrating life, from the life you live to those who gave you life!  My dear friend, Michelle, joined me to create a wonderful book for her Aunt and another for her Mom.  So this sweet girl went about to gather 50 letters of love and friendship in honor of her beloved Mother's 50th Birthday.  She gathered them and other memories in her Epic Day This and That book.. delivering a wonderful gift that celebrated and documented some wonderful memories in the life of an amazing mom.

Michelle went above and beyond, this sweet and hard working girl (she works multiple jobs while donating her time to lead a young girls soccer team and preparing for college to start).  She snuck in time to create stunning pages of memories, adding in letters that family and friends over the past 50 years of her mother's life contributed to her surprise gift/party.

From a recent trip up to our beloved Big Bear, I couldn't resist crafting!  Taking the This and That books allows me to plot our life (well, I have one as a 'dream journal' where I post pictures from magazines and on-line that I love and dream of the day I will have it - lol).  I can document the memories we make as a family and even, with my children, teach them to document and appreciate their memories.  Recently, my son was journaling about how it felt to win an award at school - it was fun to see him re-living and evaluating how he felt.  (Not bad for a 10 year old boy.)

 

Journaling on our deck - I travel with a small Thirty One bag that has my This and That journals, washi tapes, designer stickers and tape.  I even keep it in the car and use it when I know I need to 'fill time'

 

Print photos from your recent vacation or a favorite get-away. Stamping the words from the Perfect Blend stamp set on the Essentials Wood Elements with the Baked Brown Sugar stamp pad. Adhere these to the pages with Glue Dots. (Such a fun and whimsical element, representing the Sun and Words....)

Stamp the Coffee Cup from the Perfect Blend stamp set on Very Vanilla and a then the band of the coffee cup on a piece of the Retro Fresh Designer Paper. Cut both out and adhere them together.

Journal some thoughts and take a moment to capture "your" time and thoughts (not just that of your family or friends) with the Retro Fresh Designer Journaling Tags. Adhere to the page with the Retro Fresh Designer Washi Tape.
