Gorgeous Wood hand made art and gift

I was one of thooooose girls growing up.  I played football in the street with the boys, climbed trees, played in the mud and in high school I was one of the few (the only one in my classes) who took wood shop and metal working.  I also received the best grades in those classes while having a BLAST!  Creating this fun gift/wood art was a nod to my love of all crafts, creating, wood and my passion for stamping!  See this fun video tutorial below.  Join Us at our upcoming card and crafting classes (in-person and to-go) where we will be creating fun projects like this (at our next Creative Connections class and dinner on July 29th).

I love wood.  The smell, texture, and potential.. Adding nature to my hand crafted projects makes my heart so happy!

~  Using these slices of wood and Black Archival ink stamp the Hello Gorgeous saying from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.

~  Stamp the roses next and then the stem.

~  Water color in the flowers with the Aqua Painters and our Daffodil Delight ink.

~  Add depth and color with the Calypso Coral ink for that two toned effect.

~  Color in the stem with the Wild Wasabi ink.

~  Seal this off with wood sealer or Modge Podge (like I did).

~  Allow to dry.

~  Hot Glue the strong magnets to the back.

This 2-Step stamp set is awesome in creating a unique multi-colored stamped image. Here the Sea Star is one of the many images in this pretty new stamp set.  Stamp the first part in So Saffron ink and the second image in the Crushed Curry ink pad.

Pretty Paper Ornament

Ohhhh I love the stunning collection of pretty Designer Series Paper and coordinating Vellum!!  Here with Gold Accents it helps to create a stunning pretty paper ornament.  Accent with the Gold Foil Doily from the Metallic Doilies Collection.  A change of texture and look is the pretty wooden snowflake for the center accent.  Hot glue holds this all together with ease.

Follow Your Patterns!!  Make sure when you create these cones is to make sure that your patterns are in the same direction.  This will allow for your hand-crafted ornament to look cohesive and elegant.  Squares of 1-1/2" for the pretty Vellum and 2" for the pretty Designer Series Paper roll into these little cones.  Adhere it with Hot Glue (be careful, it is hot).

Punch a 1-3/4" Circle from Whisper White card stock.  Cover one side with hot glue and then tuck the cones into the center.  Using the Scallop Oval punch to support this pretty Gold Sparkling Ribbon hanging loop.  This packet of ribbon comes with TWO in a pack and both are sparkling!!

Simple but elegant.  It is fun to create a hand-stamped card that while easy will deliver my gratitude.  Here the Six Sayings Hostess-Exclusive stamp set is so lovely.  Stamped with Crumb Cake ink pad on the Whisper White card stock.  Accented with this cute and a-'corny' piece of Into the Woods Designer Series Paper.  I love that this stamp set is discounted for all who host a Private Class with me or who Join My Team.

I adore the Into the Woods Wooden Elements.  They are so much fun to color in and make fit into my projects.  Genuine wood is a light weight but on-trend and stylish accent to my projects.

Here rubbing the wooden acorn pieces into the Crumb Cake ink pad (it needs to set and dry for a while).  The laser cut accents take on a multi-colored look while coordinating perfectly with this hand-stamped card.  Use the Glue Dots to secure them to the pretty card in a variety of ways.

I love the colors and textures of Fall!  This card, from our recent Stamper's 10 Club, is a perfect use of the Happy Scenes stamp set in a new way while embracing Fall.  

Create a pretty water colored look.  Stamping the Happy Scenes fall image on Whisper White card stock with Soft Suede ink.  Using the Aqua Painter color, carefully, as the Soft Suede ink will blend into the Crumb Cake and So Saffron as you paint it.  I really wanted the leaves and pumpkins to POP!  Using the Tangelo Twist Stampin' Write Marker (from the 2014-16 In Color collection) and color at the end for the more intense color.

I'm a busy girl.. this has caused me to feel like I never get to sit and connect with others.  Combining my passion for crafting with my love of coffee, I've found that mornings - even for a brief moment - at my friend's amazing Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters gives me time to connect.. and that is so good for my soul!  Combine it with my passion for crafting, it's a stop during my week that allows me to Create, Connect and enjoy a cup of Coffee over Card Making (whew - say that fast four times, lol).

A great start to my day... a Pumpkin Dream latte at Ragamuffin and hand-stamped cards!!  Picked for a rich, seasonal look - this Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper is so pretty, rich in color and style and perfect for Fall!

OPTIONS!!  I love that our Designer Series Paper is double sided!  This allows me to have fun and play with the look of each hand-stamped card.  Inks, papers, accessories that all coordinate for ease in creating stylish crafts.

Pop by for amazing coffee and get so much more!  These awesome ladies jumped in to have fun in creating a hand-stamped card.  It's awesome how a mother-daughter team can have the same crafting supplies and create something completely different and personal.  

Again, I love options... here the Into the Woods Elements can be modified!  Rubbed along the top of an ink pad or colored in with our Stampin' Write Markers, the wood can take on a new look.  They are lazer etched with cool images; once dipped this allows for a two tone look.  

Tool Tip:  The ink takes a long while to dry!  This was discovered when they rubbed up against another card (darn it!).  Use our Heat Tool, used for heat embossing, to set the ink.  It smells great, like a campfire starting up.. but caution - this can actually scorch - so be cautious in how long and how close you heat set these.  Heat set it, too, on a safe surface - I used a heat safe surface so it didn't damage my crafting area.
